Energy : Mitochondrial Function : Fibromyalgia
As the “power plants” of each and every cell in the human body, the mitochondria synthesize the vast majority of cellular energy as Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). Though found in nearly every human cell, concentrations of mitochondria are far more abundant in the tissues and organs with a higher rate of metabolic activity, like those of skeletal muscle, the liver, and brain. When unhindered and supplied with sufficient nutrients, such as B-vitamins, magnesium, zinc, and iron to process calories into usable ATP, sufficient energy is available to maintain proper cellular and organ activity.
